Also some vegetarians and vegans have this problem as it becomes more difficult for them to process animal protein. Don’t feel like you have to swallow, especially if it causes you pain or you’re just really not into it. Your enjoyment is just as important as your partner’s. Just a tip, I get canker sores (which are mouth ulcers) all the time, salt water gargling helps a lot to keep them clean and help them heal faster. Also avoid very citrus-y food, and taking echinacea and vitamin C and eating garlic can help boost your immune system so they heal faster.

As long as you’re keeping them clean, oral sex shouldn’t be a problem.

The average penis circumference is 4 - 5 inches, diameter being about 1.25 - 1.6 inches (which is about the same as an empty roll of scotch tape). There are very wide penises that, depending on how big your mouth is, may be difficult to take fully into the mouth. In those cases you can use your tongue, lips, and hands to help stimulate the parts you can’t fit into your mouth.

If you can’t find anything, don’t feel pressured to perform oral sex if you really don’t like it. There are many different things you can do that will be pleasurable for your partner and you.

Well the safest thing would be to use a condom. You can pass STIs through oral sex, and even if neither of you have been sexually active with any one else, have never had any symptoms, or have even been tested recently, one of you could have an STI. It’s best before you have unprotected oral sex to get an STI test and if either of you have ever had a cold sore or have kissed or been with someone who had a cold sore it’s very possible you have herpes and that can be passed to the genitals through oral sex. Neither herpes or HPV are tested for in the regular battery of STIs so it’s important to use protection to avoid those STIs as much as possible.

If you’re fine with the risk, it’s really up to you whether you want to spit or swallow. It just comes down to what you’re comfortable with.

Not everyone can orgasm and/or ejaculate through oral sex so you shouldnt feel bad about it.

If you haven’t checked the FAQ for fellatio, please do so! It has lots of ideas and tips. Of course everyone has different preferences and getting to know your partner’s preferences will depend on communication, practice and exploring! Try changing things up a little with your grip, using hands, not using hands, sucking, not sucking, just teasing with your tongue, and caressing other parts of the body as well. Variety will keep it interesting.

In addition, just a tip, you can sometimes tell if a person with a penis is about to orgasm and/or ejaculate by paying attention to the testicles, they will rise closer to the shaft of the penis and the testicles move closer to the body. 

Again, don’t feel bad if it doesn’t happen, not everyone can orgasm and/or ejaculate through oral sex!

It’s really difficult to provide you with a how to guide for performing the “perfect blow job” because everyone has different preferences! We do have a post in our FAQ about fellatio that you can check for ideas.

The term “sex” is a REALLY general term and lots of different “sex” acts and sexual activity comes to mind so i’m a little unsure of where to start…If your question is just in regards to tips for having good sex, my number one tip is to ALWAYS communicate with your partner. Knowing what works and what doesn’t will make it better!

Firstly, if you’re not comfortable giving a blow job then know that, that’s your decision and it’s totally ok. I’ll give you some resources about fellatio but in the end it’s totally your decision with doing it or not.

The whole idea of a blow job is for pleasure, just like many other sexual activities. Sometimes, just exploring your partners body by licking and sucking can be super pleasurable, so pleasurable that they may not even notice what you look like.  It can feel a little silly but your partner is probably focusing more on the sensations. 

I personally love making my partner feel good, because it makes me feel good and thats why I do it, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to do it if you’re not comfortable with it.
