Anonymous asked: im not sure if you'll have an answer to this but i trust the mods of this blog and nothing else is reliable enough for me. does body hair (i.e arms, stomach, etc) grow back thicker or darker once it's been shaved off? what about plucked? trimmed? thanks!
Body hair generally looks like it grows back thicker/darker once its been shaved because of how the hair has been cut. When hair is shaved it leaves a blunt end, when that hair grow back out it looks darker because of that blunt end. It appears darker or thicker but really it’s not, its like the light is playing a trick on us.
When hair is waxed, plucked or completely removed from the hair follicle, what happens is there is no blunt end to the hair anymore and a completely new hair grows out. The end of this new hair is more pointed and not blunt, making it look lighter/thinner!
it’s really sort of all an illusion!
