Anonymous asked: what do you mean when you say that using disposable pads and tampons can cause cramps?
It’s not so much that it causes cramps as it can make your cramps worse (although some people who switch to non disposable methods do report that their cramps go away altogether). The main reason why we think that people who switch report a decrease in cramping is because of the bleaching process that disposable products go to (which is why some people who switch to un bleached tampons also report that their cramping decreases). Some of the chemicals used in some of the bleaching processes are really bad for your body and they do remain to some extent in the product and are released into the body. Some products have less chemicals involved and some people aren’t as sensitive to the chemicals as others it really depends on a lot of factors.
