Anonymous asked: Ok, in order to be extra safe after having sex with my boyfriend (using a condom) I took the emergency morning after pill, we had sex a few hours later with a condom but if that were to have split hypothetically would I have been remotely protected because of taking the pill so soon beforehand?
Yes, if both sexual encounters happened on the same day there would be protection for both (because the morning after pill keeps you from ovulating for up to 5 days, which is the amount of time it takes for sperm to die when it’s inside of you.) However it’s not a good idea to take the morning after pill regularly so if you’re going to have regular sex I’d suggest other forms of birth control, all of which you can find talked about in my FAQ or the planned parenthood website.
