Anonymous asked: I saw a part of an article the other day on the internet saying that a pregnant woman can cure morning sickness by ingesting the sperm/semen of the father. The couldn't get to the whole article but it seemed to be saying it had to do with the immune response to foreign body fluids. Is there any legitimacy in such a thing? I had never heard of that being the cause of morning sickness before.
Just read over a couple articles about that! Sounds like it’s all still just a theory and has yet to have in-depth studies performed about it. I would say that immune response to the foreign properties of a fetus could be a possible explanation for morning sickness; accepted explanations involve hormone changes/imbalance, blood sugar imbalance, as well as build-up of acid, all of which can cause nausea.
Although the theory that oral sex can help cure morning sickness is certainly an interesting one, it doesn’t look like there is any conclusive proof that it works as of today. I’m sure in a few years there will be plenty of studies/literature about it though!
Here’s a New York Daily News article I found about it if you want more info.
