Q: What are dental dams and why are they important?

A: Dental dams are a thin sheet of (usually latex) used as protection during cunnilingus or analingus. They keep both the person receiving the oral sex and giving it from exchanging germs or STDs. Many STDS are passed through oral sex. You can also use non-microwavable seran wrap. They can also be used with vagina on vagina sex (Tribadism or scissoring) by attaching a larger sheet of dental dam using a dental dam harness or garter belt clips.
