Anonymous asked: What do you think about the film 'XXY'? Do you think it gives a realistic representation of intersexuality?

I actually blogged about it while I was watching it. I don’t know how realistic it is because I’m honestly not educated enough on the subject (although I am learning more). I know that a lot of intersex people do go through parents and doctors wanting to give them surgeries and hormones and that it is a difficult time just figuring out who you are. For me personally the lack of consent involved in all the sexual activity in the film and the attack on the intersex character was extremely triggering so it’s definitely not for people who are easily triggered.
